Chairman's Message

NAHB R Remodelers,

On behalf of the 2012 NAHB R Steering Committee, we extend our gratitude for your interest in the 2012 NAHB R Remodelers Council.   We anticipate a strong year for the Remodeling industry.   For those who are new to the Council your Remodeler’s Steering Committee is comprised of the following members:
 
2012 Chairman:  Mark Blankman, Fine Remodel, LLC

2012 Vice-Chair:  Ken Adams, Magleby Companies

Membership:  Steve Norr, Peppertree Kitchen & Bath

Programs:  Matt Russell, Russell & Co.

Education:  Brandon LeRoy, Jackson & LeRoy Remodeling

Marketing:  Matt Klein, Klein’s Custom Countertops

Staff Liaison:  Christie Carter, Salt Lake HBA

We are in the process of updating all national and local records for the members of our NAHB R Remodelers Council.  Membership to the NAHBR Remodelers is offered statewide.  At this time, we are the only local HBA who has a Remodelers Council in operation.  With the help of our sister HBA’s, we extend membership to any building industry/remodeling professional who is a current member of any of the nine (9) local HBA’s in Utah.   Requirements for membership are:  1) a current local HBA Membership and 2) $50 year NAHB R Council dues to the Salt Lake HBA NAHB R Remodelers.
 
The Council meets the second Friday of each month (unless there are 5 weeks in the month and then it will be the third Friday of the month).  We encourage you to add these dates to your calendars.  A reminder message will be sent one week prior to each meeting to all active Council members from Christie Carter at the SLHBA office.  Council meetings are held from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and lunch is provided at a minimal fee.  The first half hour is set aside to network among the group.  Sponsorship are available for each monthly meeting.  RSVP’s are very important in helping us to maintain accurate food counts.  Please be courteous and register for the luncheons online at www.slhba.com or by contacting Christie at (801) 748-4134 or christie@slhba.com.
 
This year’s emphasis will be on Education, specifically on Designation Programs:  (i.e.CGA, CGR, GMB, CAPS, CGB, CMP, GMB).  A schedule will be made available online for the upcoming designation classes / programs that we will be offering in conjunction with the NAHB University of Housing.   Individual advanced registration is required for these classes.  Additionally, we will be working on the marketability and exposure of the SLHBA website as it relates to connecting the general public with our Remodelers.
